An exception...

It's pretty common to see middle school - high schoolers with things written on their hands and arms. It's not just phone numbers...notes from friends, web addresses, you name it. I don't like it and so my kids typically keep their hands and arms ink free. Wednesday and Thursday we made an exception and wore hearts to remember to pray for Meredith.

Jeff sent a hilarious e-mail update yesterday with a 3 sentence entry for guys and a 2000 word entry for girls. I read every word but I'll copy the guys version here:

"We are home today, October 1st, 2009. Thank you all so much for your outpouring of love and prayers.

BOY VERSION: We went to Children's in Little Rock, had a seven and a half hour heart surgery, they fixed some problems, but maybe not all of them, they will be watching her for about two weeks before deciding on the next step."

I loved his last lines too and I'm so thankful they are rooted deep in their relationship with the Lord during this time. How do people make it without HIM?

"What we do know right now, is that we are extremely lucky to have all of the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones, who have called, texted, written, visited, sent and given things, and most of all prayed!

What we do know right now, is that we have a God who has protected Meredith and will continue to.

What we do know right now, is that God has big plans for Meredith. (Jer 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you, plans to give you a hope and a future!

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Rom 8:28).

Thank you for your overwhelming love and support!

Jeff and Jennifer"
