Lauren has really enjoyed getting to play high school sports this year! Even though 9th grade is in the Junior High building, she can now participate in our High School athletics...for girls that is swimming, softball and soccer.
Our swim team finished up at the district meet on Monday. Lauren beat her best times. However, she accidentally got DQd in the 100 breaststroke, because the timer didn't see her touch with both hands. She was out of the pool before the timer told her! Anyway, she had her times posted with sticky notes in her room and she can mark her this year.
She didn't earn any medals (they don't even give heat ribbons in school athletics)...but she definitely improved, and therefore, it was a successful season.
Tonight, she travels out of town for her first CHS soccer game. Richard is out of town for 3 days so we won't be there to cheer her on. She's quite independent, but I hate not being able to go.
