Sheridan is NINE!

It's officially summer and that means Sheridan's BIRTHDAY! Richard got the pool opened just in time and then had to go out of town for the week for training. Lauren is at Girls State and so Ryan, Erin and I hosted 5 of Sheridan's friends for a CUPCAKE and SWIMMING party. You know it's a great day when Sheridan says, "It's been the most wonderful birthday ever!"

Approved Workmen

So proud of Sheridan for finishing her first year in Truth and Training club. AWANA is so great and I loved being a director and helping the sweet girls learn their verses.

Busy Girl

Lauren finished up her Junior Year with ALL STATE SOCCER honors!

Then, she started car-hopping at Sonic. The girl can get some tips with her smile!

Last weekend, we made our annual trip to Mtn Home to help Grandma at her HUGE Memorial Day sidewalk sale! She scored two great new dresses and this cute top!

This week Lauren is representing her school at Arkansas Girls State. It was a little strange dropping her off at a college dorm. Last I heard she was elected her city Clerk, and her party's Treasurer...and she had lost the back of one of her earrings. I'm sure she's having a blast!

Diamondbacks 2012

Cannot find adequate words to express my feelings about these boys. The Diamondbacks were a competitive baseball team from age 7 - 12. Five years of going to weekend tournaments and summer vacations spent at ball parks from Orlando to Kansas City made a lot of wonderful memories and good friends. All these young men are good guys, have stayed out of trouble and have been making good decisions. All but Jordan are seniors and this may be the last time we are all in the same place at the same time. I hope not but I started envisioning this senior picture last semester and this is exactly what I had in mind. I'm so thankful that our family got to be a part of something so special.

It's Official

Fortunately his picture goes with the Commencement article and not the Sheriff's Report.

Tie Dyed Freshman Girls

Erin is blessed to have a lot of friends. She has friends in every class of school, from church, sports, older and younger friends. She has that "thing" that endears her to everyone and although there's seldom a ONE AND ONLY best friend, she has the influence to impact a lot of people. Last week when Richard and I were out of town I got a text from her asking if some of her friends could come over and tie dye t-shirts for Battle of the Classes day. I answered and reminded her I was out of town and she could have friends over, but I wouldn't be at home until later in the evening or maybe they could all come over next day.

By the time she got my message and answered back she had 8 girls invited over right after school! Deep breath and it was NO problem, I only had ONE rule, "Keep the color outside." When I got home at about 4:30, there were girls everywhere, with these cute shirts all over the front yard! They had pulled up instructions on the internet and someone (I still don't know who) got all the supplies and they were finished and happy!

Good news: the Freshman won Battle of the Classes and the day was a success. It's these things that make memories that she'll remember forever. I could've messed it up when she didn't get my message. I'm so thankful I didn't freak out.

Spring Sports

It's been a really fun semester watching Ryan play baseball, Lauren and Erin play soccer together and Sheridan play soccer on the weekends. These last months have flown by with games and tournaments all running together. Neither the baseball team or the soccer team made it past the first round in the state tournament and Sheridan's team didn't win a game all season, but it didn't devastate us at all because everyone enjoyed their teams and their accomplishments. I like it that way, and I'm sure glad we're done driving to Mena!

CRAZY WEEK

So thankful for this weekend...it's been a crazy week.

MONDAY & TUESDAY: I went to Mtn Home to hang out with my Mom. I needed some new clothing for upcoming events and she had an unexpected day off that we spent going through some things at her house. We had fun and we might do it again!
WEDNESDAY: I went to Little Rock with my friend Ashlea. It was so fun to have no set agenda and just go shopping! I bought a new bench for my front porch and some graduation gifts. Mostly the girl talk was worth the entire trip.
THURSDAY: Richard, Sheridan and I went to Little Rock and watched Erin and Lauren play a GREAT soccer game against Shiloh. We lost, but played our best game of the season. Lauren scored our only goal and it was a beautiful sunny day for soccer.
FRIDAY: Richard and I went to the boy's soccer games back in Little Rock. Richard has a connection to this group of seniors as most of them were on his 12 year old state soccer championship team. They won and I was glad we were there to support them. Of course, I couldn't help but sleep in the car ALL the way there, because that's just what I do. Sheridan had her first LONG sleepover and birthday party. It was a strange night with Ryan at work, Lauren at friend's and Erin at the neighbor's. We rented a movie and watched it early. Strange.
SATURDAY: We picked up a VERY tired and cranky Sheridan, and headed to Fayetteville to watch the HOGS last home baseball game. It was the longest game ever. (3 and a half hours) However, it was awesome to be with Richard, Ryan and Sheridan for the day. Lauren and Erin went to the semi-finals of the soccer tournament in Little Rock and watched them win a great game!

I've been out of town six days this week, it would be SCARY to figure out how much money we've spent on gasoline this week! Next week is graduation. Not sure even where to start on that one.
