Another week...flying by

How can the weeks go so fast? I feel like some days last forever!

On Thursday my husband, whom I love, agreed to switch his day off so he could take me to War Eagle. War Eagle is a place in NWA that hosts a huge craft show. I haven't been in 10 years, and Rich didn't think he had been in 20.

We set off after we dropped the kids off at school. It was sunny and cool and beautiful and a great day for a date. (which we always need) For the record, we mostly purchased food, including cashew brittle and kettle korn! We decided against any more Christmas decorations, fall wreaths, aprons, yard art, or belts with our names printed on the back of them. I bought some monogrammed sterling silver earrings for myself and that was that.

This is Richard assuring me he can handle the 100s of women and their shopping bags.

Literally parking in fields!

Richard had a huge turkey leg for lunch. At some point while we were in line some 70 year old ladies behind us were giving my husband a hard time about only being at War Eagle for the food. Richard was laughing and when we left the line I said, "Ladies, he came peaceably, let him enjoy his turkey leg!"

Also this last week I painted hay bales for the first time. (I need creative outlets and when I'm asked I'll paint just about anything!) They are advertising for our fall FUN FEST our church hosts every October. Our church is on a corner right across from our schools. It is a GREAT LOCATION and we have prayed many many times over the years that we would be a place of light for our community. Hopefully many families will see our hay bales and know they just have to come! I learned some things along the way but here is what they looked like:

I am painfully aware that I'm quite pathetic to be blogging about painting hay.

Erin played soccer on Saturday and following her less than stellar performance last Saturday she showed out! I was so thankful for her team to not only win, but play well! She had a season high 3 goals and she worked hard for them. Way to go girl!

Also this week, as a highlight Sheridan learned to ride her bicycle without training wheels. She and I were just taking a little walk around the neighborhood and I asked her if she wanted to try. She did, I took them off and away she went! She most likely could've done it sooner...but we're behind on some things, what can I say? Her face at the end of this video is worth a thousand words. (If you wonder...Ryan's moped is in the driveway, it hasn't been starting right and he had taken it apart right there.)

The last time I went to War Eagle was when the girls were infants, so that makes 12 or 13 years ago? I just can't remember exactly how old they were. The girls stayed at Grandpa and Grandma's house with my parents there too. I love War Eagle and hope to go again someday.

Painted hay bales seem to be all the rage this year. I've seen them on several blogs, so you are not pathetic to be posting about it.

I wondered who painted the hay bales--they really add a lot!

That's awesome that Sheridan can ride without training wheels!! I think that's amazing that she picked it up so quickly!!u
